Single Dose Cabergoline Verses Bromocrit-ptine in Inhibition of Puerperal Lactation

A prospective randomised well controlled tiral was conducted in Naland medical college Hospital, Patna on 50 puerperal women for inhibition of lactation. They were divided into group one of 25 patients who were put on cabergoline (I mg single doses) and group 2 of another 25 patients who received bromocriptine (2.5mg x2 for 14days). Because of the considerably lower rate 'of rebound breast activity and adverse effects and simpler administration schedule cabergoline should be the drug of choice for lactation inhibition.
