Emissary veins connect the extracranial and intracranial venous sinuses. There is very rare and lesser known foramen which is present in squamous portion of occipital bone near the external occipital protuberance; which is known as occipital emissary foramen. The presence of this foramen was noted in 5 skulls out of 70 skulls in osteology research laboratory of the Anatomy department, M.P.Shah Medical College, Jamnagar and measurements (distances) and photographs were taken and were compared with various research works.
