Swine erysipelas in a sow- A case report

摘要

A 12 months old sow with diamond shaped patches of skin discolouration, pyrexia, dullness, depression, anorexia, lethargy and sternal recumbency was diagnosed as suffering from swine erysipelas. Treatment with procaine penicillin @ 50,000 IU/kg im for3 days revealed marked improvement and diamond skin lesions disappeared and animal became almost normal.
