Seroepidemiological studies on bovine viral diarrhoea

Seroepidemiological study was conducted to record occurrence of BVD in cattle population. In positive animals, respiratory infection, repeat breeding, neonatal diarrhoea, abortions, mastitis/metritis, poor quality semen and birth of still born/congenital defects were prominent. The cases were observed in all the seasons and in all the age groups. Holstein Friesian (HF) and HF crossbred were more susceptible as compared to Jersey and Jersey crossbred and indigenous cattle.
