Prevalence of fluke infection in cattle in and around Guwahati

Total 286 faecal samples from local cattle irrespective of age and sex were collected from different low lying areas in and around Guwahati during the late summer. None of the animals upto 3 yr of age showed fascioliasis but amphistomiasis was seen. Animals above 3 yr suffered from both the infections. The overall prevalence of amphistomiasis and fascioliasis were 42.30 and 4.54%, respectively.
