Serological detection and haematological study of borreliosis in dogs

Serum samples from 235 dogs in Chennai city showing lameness and with a history of tick bites were screened for anti-borrelia antibodies by indirect ELISA and 18 cases (17.7%) were detected positive. The predominant clinical signs were pyrexia (77.8%)and popliteal lymph node enlargement (77.8%). Neutrophilia (22.2%) followed by eosinophilia (11.1%) were also seen.
