Acute trypanosomosis in a dog- a case report

A 2 yr old female Dalmatian dog admitted in hospital attached to Bombay Veterinary College, Mumbai with oedematous swelling of throat and face, spleenomegaly and lymphadenopathy was diagnosed as suffering from acute trypanosomosis. The blood and serumsamples were investigated for haemato-biochemical changes. Treatment with diamenazene aceturate @ 7 mg/kg deep im revealed marked clinical recovery and the dog was discharged from the hospital.
