Comparative performance of cabbage hybrids under rabi and kharif seasons

Of the cole crops, cabbage (Brassica oleracea L. var. capitata) occupies a prime place. This vegetable finds a place in curries, mixed vegetables and saurkraut. Richness in vitamins A and C, proteins and minerals (Munger, 4) and anti-carcinogenic properties associated with it increase the importance of this cole crop. The present era is of hybrids and moreover, gluts due to monocropping of tomato over larger acreage demands for crop diversification to make the profession of vegetable production an economic one. Therefore, present studies were undertaken to seek the possibilities of cabbage hybrids during off-season.
