摘要

Yield, being the most important and complex character, is governed by several physiological processes within the plant and environmental factors in which it is grown. Direct selection for complex traits like seed yield in pea is often not very effective and, therefore, indirect selection for some of the component traits associated with it may be rewarding. Knowledge of genotypic and phenotypic correlations of yield components and path analysis will be very useful in formulating breeding strategy to develop elite genotypes through selection in advanced generations. Hence, an experiment was conducted to study the association among seed yield contributing traits and the direct and indirect effects of each of the components traits towards seed yield inpea under cold arid region of Ladakh.
