Structure and biology of a newTolypocladiumattacking bdelloid rotifers

Tolypocladium lignicolais described as new. The asymmetrical conidia lodge in the mastax of bdelloid rotifers and germinate to produce assimilative infection hyphae composed of elongate, clavate to turbinate, assimilative cells. Conidial production is prolific in air but suppressed under water.
