摘要

The investigations were carried to study the fruit developmental stages pertaining to quality characteristics in Kandhari, Nabha and Ganesh cultivars. Fruit volume, aril weight, juice percentage and organoleptic rating increased while per cent rind weight decreased with advancement of maturity. Biochemical changes during the growth and development of pomegranate fruit indicate that TSS and vitamin-C increased upto 150 days of anthesis. However acidity decreased during fruit development. The maturitywas completed after 140 days (11th August), thus fruits of cv. Kandhari, Nabha and Ganesh should not be harvested before 140 days of anthesis.
