It seems that many of your readers have missed the purpose of the first article on the difference in smoke test results with generic smoke paper. It seems like a no brainer to me, but why not use the test paper supplied by the manufacturer of the smoke tester?....There is no reason whatsoever not to set up a flame retention burner for a true ZERO SMOKE. Most, if not all burner manufacturers recommend setting up a burner by first setting it up for a trace of smoke, then take a CO2. I would recommend also checking the cad cell resistance. Next, give the burner a little more air, or move the nozzle assembly per manufacturer's instructions.Take a CO2 and a smoke again.
