This paper presents interference suppression effect of coherent adaptive antenna array diversity (CAAAD) receiver combined with space diversity (SD) in W-CDMA reverse link by computer simulations. The simulation results shows when the total number of antennas is 8 and 17 active users exist, the required MS transmit power at the average BER of 10{sup}(-3) with CAAAD receiver combined with SD (we denotes 4+4) can be decreased by approximately 1.7 dB compared to CAAAD receiver using 8-antenna for the average received SIR = -12 dB owing to the SD effect, meanwhile almost identical performance is achieved in both schemes for the average SIR = -18dB since the beam-width of the CAAAD receiver combined with SD becomes slightly broader.
