Psoriasis is a common and debilitating illness with long-term psychological and physical consequences. It is caused by a chronic autoimmune inflammatory process with a link to cardiovascular and other inflammatory conditions. Although commonly diagnosed within primary care, management is challenging with new emphasis being placed on addressing the psychological impact of the disease. This article covers the diagnosis and management of this condition in adults.
