摘要

Tin oxides on tinplate surface have a considerable indusirial significance since they directly influence tinplate characteristics and quality. They play an important role on the adhesion of organic coatings, in the yellow surface discoloration and can also favour corrosion in the pores of tinplate coating. Some methods for the determination of tin oxides on tinplate have been developed. In the present work the Willey and Kelsey electrochemical method was considered. Measurements were carried out ondifferent kinds of tinplate: unpassivated tinplate, unpassivated tinplate after removal of tin oxides, freshly produced tinplate and tinplate that has been more than two years ago and subsequently stored until analysis.
