Geothermal heat pump technology bill

U.S. Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) has sponsored a bill that would establish technology research and development for geothermal heat pumps. The bill, S1142, is co-sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK). It would amend the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, directing the U.S. Secretary of Energy to establish a program of research, development and commercial application for geothermal heat pump technology.
