Meta-Analysis of Clinical Trials Comparing Scleral Bucking Surgery to Pneumatic Retinopexy

In this issue ofEvidence-Based Eye Carewe have created a meta-analysis to determine if scleral buckling surgery reduces the risk of a second therapeutic procedure, when compared to pneumatic retinopexy, for the treatment of primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. The study has been conducted in part to provide readers with a better understanding of precisely what a meta-analysis is and what some of its limitations are.
