Essential oils of Ageratum conyzoides and Catharanthus roseus were tested for their toxicity against five species of Chaetomium which were found cellulolytic in nature. Cellulolytic activity of the species was tested using the clearing test of Walseth. Fungitoxic properties of both the oils were observed. Both oils were found to be fungicidal in nature at higher concentration.
