Vasal aplasia and cystic fibrosis

Vasal aplasia syndromes may occur as part of the phenotypic spectrum of cystic fibrosis, and they represent the most subtle expression of dysfunction in the protein product coded for by the cystic fibrosis gene. This review will bring together the known information regarding ductal morphogenesis and vasal aplasia, and will propose a mechanism that explains the association of the two.
