Fifteen carnation cultivars and 20 gladiolus (Gladiolus hortulanus) cultivars were evaluated for resistance to vascular wilt (caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. dianthi and F. oxysporum f.sp. gladioli, respectively) in a pot experiment. None of the cultivars were highly resistant. However, 5 carnation cultivars (Kalahari, Trisco, Shocking Pink, Talima and Sisagri 9080) and 3 gladiolus cultivars (White Prosperity, Video and Copper King) exhibited partial resistance.
