The surface thermodynamic equations are tabulated for the apolar and polar interactions between two similar and between two different materials,in vacuo, as well as immersed In a third liquid medium. The Interaction mechanisms are explained and the conditions are given under which some of these reactions will become repulsive. The curious analogy between theapolarInteraction betweentwo different materials, immersed in an apolar liquid, and thepolarinteraction betweentwo similar materials, immersed in a polar liquid, Is elaborated upon.
