Baghdad—Iraq’s oil ministry is prepared to challenge in the US courts the export of crude from its semi-autonomous Kurdistan region after shipping data appeared to show a laden vessel heading to the US, a senior oil ministry official said. The Italian-flagged Neverland tanker departed Ceyhan on June 13 with more than 700,000 b/d of crude destined for Augusta, Italy, but it turned off its transponder on June 21 just past Gibraltar, heading toward the Atlantic Ocean.
