It is shown that four-phase equilibria of polymer solutions can be calculated by a homotopy method. The main idea proposed here is to obtain a good initial point for the homotopy method by first calculating the reentrant three-phase equilibria. By this method, four-phase equilibria of polymer solutions polystyreneⅠ+polystyreneⅡ+polystyreneⅢ+methylcyclo-haxane using empirically determined free energy based on the Flory-Huggins theory, could be elucidated.
