摘要

Organic electroluminescence (EL) devices based on sequentially adsorbed layers formed in water Solution have been reported and drawing attentions. However, there are various EL materials that can't be soluble in water. In this research, EL device based on sequentially adsorbed layers in organic solvent was successfully fabricated with methanol solution of new synthesized Ru-polymer as polycation and methanol solution of poly(acrylic acid) as polyanion. From this system EL device could achieve levels over 50 cd/m{sup}2 and external quantum efficiency over 0.07 percent in the air using an ITO anode and a bismuth cathode. And this EL device containing poly( ethylene oxide) could achieve external quantum efficiency over 0.7 percent in the air. The external quantum efficiency of the device is 20 times greater than that of monolayer Ru(II) complex EL device fabricated by spin casting method.
