Synthetic fibres are steadily gaining ground over the natural fibres. The focus of the future is therefore, on the large scale production of synthetic staple fibres. The problems associated with the production of staple synthetic fibre yarns in the rotor spinning system are discussed in this paper. Optimization of various fibre parameters such as fibre crimp, fibre length and denier, fibre finish etc. offer an effective solution to the practical problems encountered in the rotor spinning of man mades and their blends.
