That was the clear promise the project leader for the new Porsche Boxster, Horst Woehler, made late last year on a two-day test in various prototype versions of the new mid-engined roadster. Back then - before a series of pictures had officially announced the new car to the world - the full extent of the changes brought to the third-generation Boxster remained a carefully guarded secret. But despite the heavy disguise of the cars we rode in, it was clear it represented more than a simple rehash of the second-generation model that has been on sale in the UK since 2004. We've wondered ever since if the behind-the-wheel experience can live up to these initial impressions.
