This is the new Jaguar F-type, the long-awaited successor to the iconic E-type that has been decades in the making. The new front-engined, rear-drive F-type, revealed to the world ahead of its Paris motor show debut this week, is set to go on sale as a convertible next spring - 39 years after the E-type went off sale - with supercharged V6 and V8 petrol engines options. A coupe will follow around 18 months later. The two-seat F-type will be positioned between the Porsche Boxster and Porsche 911 in terms of both size and price. Jaguar officials have hinted at a starting price of around £55,000 for the base V6 model.
