The insect complex of Sown pastures in the North Island

A sweep-sampling survey during the summer of 1957 revealed 90 species of Hymenoptera in the main pasture types occurring in the North Island. The identity, distribution, and abundance of these species are indicated, and their possible economic importance is discussed. Thirty-one genera are new records for New Zealand.
