The trouble with a Caterham Seven, you might ruefully conclude on a cold, wet day when you've got 100 or more miles to drive, is that it's cramped, noisy, leaky and just a bit too rampantly alive for a trip of even half that distance. And what you might find yourself musing, as you struggle to button closed a floppy vinyl door, is that the hardcore essentials of a Seven could form the basis of a rather more civilised two-seat sports car that nevertheless remains as amusing as back-to-back episodes of 'Have I Got News For You'.
