RATHER THAN FOLLOW BMWs lead and build an electric car around an all-new architecture, Mercedes-Benz's pure-electric version of the newly facelifted B-class is based on the standard production car, which has needed the minimum of engineering changes. Taking inspiration from the original A-class and B-class models, the new-generation car can be built with a double-skin 'sandwich' version of the rear half of the platform.
