摘要

Some people will do just about anything to get ahead in life, sometimes even after they have been and gone. In 1926 Canadian millionaire Charles Vance Millar left the bulk of his estate to whichever woman in Toronto could give birth to the largest number of children in the 10 years following his death. After a procreation race known appropriately as the Great Stork Derby, four women each received £125,000 apiece, having produced some 36 children between them over the decade. Ouch.
