A recent drive in Peugeot's new 108 made for an interesting impromptu comparison with MG 3. These two are battling in different segments, the Peugeot a city car, the MG 3 a budget-priced supermini, but they certainly overlap pricewise, the 108 starting at ￡8245, the MG at ￡8399. The Peugeot is the more modern looking, and its triple-cylinder engines are far more advanced and economical than the MG's 1.5-litre four.
