The growing importance of infrared (IR) imaging in medicine, along with improvements in thermal imaging camera technology, is triggering the development of coherent bundles from different materials transparent in the IR spectral range. Efforts to develop practical, biocompatible, high-resolution, long and flexible thermal imaging bundles are described in this article. The aim is to replicate the success of the imaging bundles in the visible range that modern medicine cannot live without.
