Revised Focus rival gets new petrol and diesel engines, plus fresh green technology. MAZDA IS FITTING new engines and green stop-start technology to its comprehensively reworked 3, which will be unveiled at next month's Los Angeles motor show ahead of a global launch next spring. Engineers have developed an all-new 2.0-litre direct injection petrol engine - thought to be good for 150bhp - as well as a new 2.2-litre turbodiesel unit that could be used in the next-generation Mazda 3 MPS instead of today's turbocharged petrol motor.
