New ￡1m McLaren to 'redefine tech'

McLaren Automotive's successor to the iconic F1 has been caught out in the open for the first time. The new hypercar, which aims to eclipse rivals such as the Ferrari Enzo replacement (see right), will be no slavish modern interpretation of the 1990s F1. Instead, it will feature a raft of new technologies, some of which "don't exist at the minute". So says McLaren boss Ron Dennis, who promised that the as-yet-unnamed F1 successor would offer "a complete package of performance".
