James P Holden was appointed president of DaimlerChrysler Corporation 1st October, 1999. He is responsible for the Chrysler/Plymouth/Jeep/Dodge division. Previously, he was executive vice president - sales and marketing and general manager - minivan operations. He was appointed to the DaimlerChrysler AG Board of Management on 17th November, 1998. Jim Holden came to Chrysler in 1981 as part of the "Gang of Ford." They were a flood of exiles from the number two automaker who saw an opportunity to save struggling Chrysler once it received a desperately-needed federal loan guarantee. A graduate of Western Michigan University -where he earned a BA in Political Science and Business - and Michigan State University - where he received an MBA - Holden had a quick climb up the Chrysler corporate ladder.
