Our hardcore Twingo acquaints you intimately with every pimple in the road, but it's a hoot to drive. WHEN I GOT WIND of the road testers' recent verdict on the Renaultsport Twingo (a defeat by the Fiat 500 Abarth), I became worried. This is not unusual behaviour for someone in the Autocar office who has a new long-termer on order. Fear of choosing the wrong car, you see. However, now that the Twingo has arrived, I am relieved. Everything I was expecting is present and correct: light weight, chuckable chassis, willing engine, great looks, and, of course, the worst ride of any car in recent memory. I have no feeling in my backside, so this is not an issue.
