AS RARE SIGHTS go, V6-powered, volume-badged big saloons are up there with the Yeti and Bigfoot. It wasn't always so, though. Such cars were once almost commonplace, but that was before the £5 gallon and CO{sub}2-based company car tax. The Vauxhall Insignia V6 has, then, a tough task ahead of it, so it's as well that the 257bhp V6 fulfils the relaxed, refined role that has been mapped out for this new flagship by parent GM.
