If that's the case, Cambridge University Eco Racing (CUER) - the only British team to enter the World Solar Challenge in Australia, which takes place this October - must stand a very good chance of success. It has come up with a radical design solution to cope with the challenge of covering the arduous 1900-mile route from Darwin to Adelaide, cutting straight through the Australian outback, faster than its rivals.
