FOR YEARS, FORD has been doing 50 per cent of a brilliant job of selling affordable people carriers in Europe. That's because, despite arriving late into the sector seven years ago, Ford chose a five-seat design for the original C-Max, when rivals like Vauxhall were already offering ingenious seven-seaters in the form of the Zafira. Pretty soon the European market began to show the 50/50 split in demand between five and seven-seaters that still exists today.
