Still the main attraction: Hooligan character and Mini style are an unbeatable combo

FOR A MINUTE there, I thought the Mini might have met its match. I had a chance to drive Alfa Romeo's new Mito supermini for a weekend recently and came away thinking that, image-wise, it was on a par with the ubiquitous Mini, with the same sort of stylish elan that the Mini does so well, especially inside. If only the Italians had done a more competent job on the Mito's dynamics, the Mini would have had some serious competition for number one spot in my personal pecking order of desirable small cars.
