BMW has lifted the veil of secrecy on some of its most advanced research vehicles to date. The firm has been testing hydrogen fuel cell technology using a futuristic-looking prototype based on the i8, pictured here in official photographs. It has also created a super-slippery new plug-in hybrid research car that is claimed to return remarkable fuel economy of 706mpg.
