Volkswagen e-Golf: Golfs powertrain range expands yet again to include a pure electric model

UNTIL NOW, THE decision to build a battery-powered car seemed to lead inevitably to a decision to make it as distinctive as possible. Volkswagen's first mass-production EV is, in stark contrast, virtually indistinguishable from its internal combustion-engined sister model. The e-Golf is the second alternative-fuel Golf to be launched (the first was the TGI, which has twin fuel tanks, one of which is for compressed natural gas), and it will soon be followed a third model, the petrol-electric hybrid Golf GTE, which arrives here later this summer.
