ROD MANSFIELD has just declared that no front-wheel-drive car will ever have more than 305bhp. He knows he's talking nonsense because he once said that no front-driver would have over 200bhp and we're sitting in our Focus RS, which has 300bhp. Mansfield, as any fast Ford nut will know, headed up Ford's SVE skunkworks in the 1980s that produced gems like the Capri 2.8i, Sierra Cosworth and flawed gems like the Escort Turbo and Fiesta Turbo.
