Honda may be focused on fuel cell technology, but the EV-N shows it's not dismissing electric vehicles out of hand. Cars cuter than kittens, bonsai and tamogotchi have long been the speciality of Japanese car makers, some of them irresistible, some verging on the kitsch, others gloriously absurd. Honda's little EV-N neatly skirts the negatives and turned out to be one of the most enjoyed cars at the Tokyo show. It's electric, it's a concept and is clearly inspired by the 1967 Honda N360, the perky juxtaposition of high-mounted circular headlights and horizontal grille immediately recognisable. Honda has no plans to produce it, although there were plenty of show-goers wishing otherwise.
