MEASURING THE PREFERENCE LEVEL OF SERICULTURAL INNOVATIONS WITH PAIRED COMPARISON TECHNIQUE

The success ot sericulture development to a great extent, depends on full adoption of technologies developed and released from research institutes. Farmers preference of mulberry production and silkworm rearing technologies depends on techno-economiccharacteristics of the technology. The study with 120 serieulturists drawn from six villages (three villages from each taluk) by personal interview method revealed that S-36 variety was preferred the most followed by V-l variety and bio-fertilizer prakruthi among mulberry production technologies. Among silkworm rearing technologies, shoot feeding for late-age silkworms followed by package of practices for chawki mulberry gardens in tropics and vijetha powder were the most preferred technologies.
