Rearing of hybrids of silkworm, Bombyx mori L. for commercial cocoon production has become the most popular practice among farmers of India (Datta, 1991). The ultimate cocoon yield is the cumulative effect of many quantitative traits. Selection basedon multiple traits is useful in judging the superiority of the silkworms impartialiy and to evaluate desirable silkworm hybrids.
