摘要

Conventionally, steel-forging route is being followed for manufacturing crank shafts for 5hp agricultural pump engine. But with the development of ADI attempts are being made to replace steel forgings to achieve equivalent or better properties than that of forged steel. ADI is lighter than steel for a given strength, moreover ADI can be cast with more dimensional precision. Production through casting route ensures huge material savings, energy savings, and higher rate of production with minimum tooling cost resulting in better acceptability.
