摘要

A composite is an intimately bonded material made with several different constituents. In this paper, an overview is given on composite and filler materials. Methodology used in this study is stir casting process to produce aluminium matrixsilicon carbide composites (AMCs). A mechanical stirrer is used for stirring. The main purpose of this study is to enhance the properties of Al-Si alloy so that it can be utilised for various automotives applications. Analysis of variance is used for analysis of data. Independent parameters are: two levels of pouring temperature 680℃, 900℃; five levels of SiC 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% and dependent parameters are: mechanical properties, wear resistance, compressive strength and metallurgical property XRD.
