AbstractHuman recombinant interferon‐gamma (IFN‐γ) significantly increased the expression of receptors for IgE (FceRII) on blood platelets. FceRII was measured by specific binding of25I‐labeled IgE or flow cytometry experiments. Scatchard analysis of125I‐labeled IgE binding curves revealed that treatment with IFN‐y increased the number of FceRII but did not change the value of the association constant of FCERII forl25I‐labeled IgE. IFN‐a had no effect on the expression or affinity of FcERII. In addition to FceRII, IFN‐γ also modified the expression of the glycoprotein IIb‐IIIa complex on th
